The Content Governance Manager leads the redesign and implementation of enterprise-wide content governance, ensuring content is accurate, consistent, current, legally compliant, and aligned with regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Content Operations and Governance, the Content Governance Manager promotes best practices and leads the development of content governance frameworks, establishing standards that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, to produce and maintain consistent, high-quality content.
Responsibilities
- Lead the redesign of content governance frameworks to improve efficiency and compliance across Content Experience and Performance.
- Define and implement guidelines for the creation, publication, and review of content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure governance processes are practical, transparent, and scalable.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive content governance frameworks (e.g., Bupa Australia’s Content Clearance Policy).
- Work with Content Operations Manager and stakeholders (e.g., legal, risk, product teams) to ensure content approvals align with business requirements and industry regulations.
- Uplift processes, lead CMS improvements and workflow optimisations to help scale our content operations.
- Identify, escalate, solve for and report back on content-related risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Maintain visibility over the status of content approval processes, ensuring compliance is achieved at all stages.
- Analyse content governance data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop measurement frameworks to assess the effectiveness of content governance risks, controls and processes.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., content design, legal, risk, policy, marketing, product etc.) to ensure governance processes are informed by business needs.
- Provide governance training, resources, and expert guidance to the business.
Manage three direct reports, providing guidance, support and development opportunities to build capability and team performance.
Requirements
- Strong background in content governance, compliance, regulatory roles, or content quality assurance
- Demonstrated experience creating and embedding governance frameworks and policies in highly regulated environments
- Experience with CMS (Sitecore), and content approval and governance tools
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Experience or certification working in an agile delivery environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements in the health insurance sector highly desirable, but not essential
