As Senior Assurance Lead, you’ll lead high-profile assurance activities that provide independent oversight of risk management and compliance within Bupa Health Insurance. In this role, you’ll ensure robust controls, governance, reporting, and escalation mechanisms are in place, giving management and regulators confidence in effective delivery. It also oversees aspects of customer remediation and will be responsible for the successful implementation of the Health Insurance Compliance Plan.
This is a full-time 12-month fixed term contract, based from our Sydney or Melbourne offices with flexible hybrid work arrangements available.
The purpose of this job is:
- Program Assurance Leadership: Drive assurance activities to ensure program deliverables meet quality and compliance standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with executive management, board members, regulators and key stakeholders.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with program deliverables, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
- Assurance Planning & Execution: Scope, plan, and execute assurance reviews and testing of controls, aligned to Bupa’s Assurance Standard.
- Reporting & Governance: Deliver high-quality assurance reports for management, the board, and regulators.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements to assurance processes and share best practices.
- Customer Remediation Oversight: Provide assurance over remediation activities to ensure fair outcomes.
- Compliance Plan Oversight: Assure the quality and completeness of the plan and its implementation.

What is needed to make it possible:
- Experience leading large assurance projects and managing regulatory engagement, within the financial services industry preferred
- Proficiency in risk and assurance practices, with approximately 7+ years of experience in assurance scoping, execution, and reporting.
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing.
