The purpose of this job is…..
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Practice Development Manager to join Bupa’s Health Services business.
This is a true leader-of-leaders role. As a PDM, you will inspire and empower Practice Managers to be exceptional leaders—sharing proven strategies for success, setting the standard through your own example, and serving as their primary source of support.
You will provide clear operational and financial leadership across your portfolio of practices, driving team performance, operational excellence, and compliance in alignment with agreed business strategy.
Building strong, collaborative relationships with Practice Clinicians and team members will be central to your success. In this role, you will lead, coach, and develop Practice Managers, offering expert insight and constructive guidance during practice visits. You will also play a key role in influencing and delivering positive P&L outcomes across your practices
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of day-to-day practice operations, acting as the operational subject matter expert.
- Build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships with Practice Leaders and Practice Managers.
- Confidently negotiate and influence key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- Develop and implement tailored Business Development Plans for each practice, with a clear focus on improving financial performance through defined operational and financial objectives.
- Lead, coach, and support Practice Managers, including performance management and ongoing professional development.
- Provide expert guidance on processes, policies, and procedures, ensuring completion of all mandatory compliance and legislative requirements.
- Deliver training and drive engagement across practice teams on relevant systems, tools, and portals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for practices, managing support needs and escalating issues to central functions where required.
- Analyse and interpret practice data at practice, regional, and national levels, leveraging insights to drive measurable improvements.
- Proactively encourage and support practices to participate in targeted learning and development initiatives.
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business or relationship management role
- Experience in Healthcare and direct interactions with Practitioners
- Demonstrated ability to grow business
- Account Management/Relationship Management experience
- Project and change management experience
- Area / regional management, managing geographically disperse teams remotely
- The ability to travel – valid driver’s Licence
- The ability to build relationships and influence professionals and practitioners
