The purpose of this job is…..
We’re seeking a driven and experienced Regional Operations Manager to join the Bupa Dental side of the business within Healthcare Services.
In this 12 month Fixed Term contract you will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of Bupa Dental Care (BDC) in your region. Partner with Practice Development Managers and Practice Principles to develop and lead practices where clinicians and employees are engaged, customers want to visit and advocate for, and sustainable financial returns are achieved. Provide strategic operational and financial direction for your region, influencing Practice Development Managers and Practice Principles.
This includes team management, operational effectiveness, and compliance with the agreed business strategy. Lead and govern processes to drive cross-functional support and business planning, focusing on practice pipeline strategy, dentist succession planning, and individual practice growth. Accountable for building and managing strong relationships with Practice Development Managers, Practice Principles, clinicians, and practice employees, while providing expert advice and constructive guidance.
This Sydney-based role requires frequent travel, as you will be responsible for supporting 32 dental practices across NSW. We are seeking a candidate with flexible working hours and the ability to travel regularly to meet the needs of the role.
Responsibilities include:
- Drive operational standards, practice strategy and development and setting of operational objectives and targets for your region.
- Lead and govern processes to drive cross functional support and business planning discipline for practice pipeline strategy.
- Strategically partner with Commercial and Property teams to develop and implement planned BDC network changes, including greenfields, relocations, rebrands and divestments.
- Ensure a high level of customer service to our practices and ensure that PDMs and PMs are empowered with processes and escalation points as needed where service delivery fails
- Drive workforce strategy across your region to ensure that clinician hours and practice staffing is operating in line with plan.
- Accountable for producing Business Development plans for all practices within your region with a strong focus on improved financial performance including setting financial and operational objectives and targets.
- Demonstrate and build the capabilities to review and interpret practice data (at individual practice, regional and network wide level) and utilise to influence improvements within the individual practices and your region as appropriate.
- Lead the development of Practice Management succession plans in conjunction with the broader BDC team by building robust working relationships with all Practice team members.
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a business leadership role
- Demonstrated Customer led strategic focus
- Demonstrated extensive people and change management experience
- Experience in Healthcare with direct interactions with practitioners & multisite locations
- Senior Leadership and people management of a geographically dispersed team
- Senior operational experience in a networked or franchised business.
- Valid drivers license + flexible with working hours and ability to travel
- Ability to build relationships and influence professionals and practitioners
- Tertiary education in a related field
- Coaching experience/training
- Advanced Leadership business systems skills and experience
