An exciting, permanent opportunity has become availablefor an Advanced Analytics Specialist.
Lead the creation of high-impact business intelligence and data analytics solutions, with a primary focus on Power BI dashboard development and advanced data science techniques. This role works closely with key stakeholders across the business to understand strategic and operational needs and empowers Bupa Aged Care Australia with actionable insights through sophisticated reporting, predictive analytics and data-driven decision-making.
What will I be doing?
Power BI development and reporting:
- Design, develop, and maintain visually compelling and user-friendly Power BI dashboards that effectively summarise complex data sets.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into intuitive, high-impact dashboards.
- Optimise reporting performance through best practice constructs of data modelling, DAX queries, functions, composite models, dataflows and report design.
Data science and advanced analytics:
- Work with key stakeholders in understanding predictive modelling use-cases - apply statistical analysis, machine learning and predictive modelling to generate business insights.
- Develop and implement forecasting models to support decision making in key business areas.
- Conduct A/B testing and hypothesis testing to measure the impact of business strategies.
Insights delivery:
- Utilize Excel for adhoc data analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders - to define requirements and deliver impactful BI and analytics solutions.
- Develop interactive and static reporting using data visualisation techniques that are clear and easy to understand and use
Requirements for the role:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in analytics, data science or related field
- Demonstrated skills and expertise as a BI developer (specialising in Microsoft Power BI) – advanced DAX, Power M Query and report design skills essential.
- Hands-on experience writing complex SQL queries, optimising query performance and working with modern data warehouses (big data processing using Azure DataBricks is a plus)
- Strong statistical analysis and data modelling skills, including experience with predictive analytics
- Highly developed MS Excel skills (Advanced)
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, machine learning and automation.
