We’re investing in more clinics, better systems and smarter, more connected ways to help our customers. As we continue to expand our services and invest in innovation, you’ll help create a healthcare system that meets people where they are, responds to what they need and leaves them better than before.

Here, your work has purpose, your voice matters and your future is full of possibility. Just imagine the impact you could make.

The purpose of this role:

As a Senior Workplace Relations Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and delivering our workplace relations and compliance agenda, partnering closely with the Head of Workplace Relations and the broader People team. As a trusted subject matter expert, you’ll support enterprise bargaining activities, manage industrial matters, and provide practical, outcome‑focused advice across a broad range of workplace relations initiatives. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, Strategic People Partners and external stakeholders to influence outcomes, manage risk and ensure a consistent, contemporary approach to employee governance across the organisation.

This role is ideal for an experienced workplace relations professional looking to deepen their impact and broaden their influence in a large organisation. You’ll be a trusted contributor within a collaborative, future‑focused People team, sharing expertise, supporting capability uplift and partnering closely with leaders.

What you’ll need to make it possible

  • Tertiary graduate or post-graduate degree in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations/Workplace Relations, or related degree.
  • Consultancy, advisory and/or management experience, inclusive of a demonstrable set of achievements in workplace relations in a large organisation
  • Experience in enterprise bargaining
  • Thrive in busy environments and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders including senior leaders, technical and functional specialists, business facing People-team, operational and line managers.
  • Proven ability to convert information and data into knowledge, and to communicate that knowledge in a meaningful and useful way.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise competing demands with a client-focussed and outcomes-centred approach.

Why you’ll love it?

We support our people to be the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves. From providing initiatives that develop careers to looking after our people’s health, wellbeing and futures. Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working, with a mix of time in the office and at home, while having plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and take your experience to the next level.

If this sounds exciting, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s shape the future of healthcare, together.

Here at Bupa your wellbeing, identity, and personal story are respected and valued. We are committed to building diverse teams that are reflective of the communities we serve and fostering a fair and inclusive workplace free from discrimination, bullying and harassment. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds and experiences, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, veterans, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ applicants and are dedicated to removing barriers to participation.

For this reason, in April 2020 our Health Insurance team invested over $50M and created the hardship team to support our customers when they most needed it.

Celebrate Wear it Purple Day and be the change

Wear it Purple was started to raise awareness of the discrimination faced by LGBTIQ+ youth, and the higher levels of suicide, depression and anxiety they experience as a result.

Ban the asterisk

Our customers have told us that our products can be confusing and complex when we add an asterisk (*) with fine print in our policies. To respond to our customers’ needs, in 2020 the Product Deisgn Squad was created to make our products simpler, more relecant and personalised. Here’s how putting our customers at the heart of everything helped the team ban the *.
