The Opportunity

The Senior Delivery Manager collaborates with business product owners to lead the end-to-end project requirements for new initiatives that drive growth, enhance speed to market, and simplify Bupa’s delivery processes. This role oversees up to two direct reports, coordinating various delivery initiatives and fostering connections among teams in Health Care Management, Technology, Go To Market, Marketing, and Customer Operations to maintain a customer-centric focus.

Key responsibilities include leading the development of complex new propositions, guiding them from solution identification to launch, and driving continuous improvement. 

The Senior Delivery Manager supports the Head of Product Operations in creating a systematic approach to innovation and evolving the product development process. With a strong background in Agile project management, process improvement, and stakeholder management, the Senior Delivery Manager identifies and addresses challenges while promoting effective collaboration across the product delivery team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver Initiatives: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of priority projects within established timelines, budgets, and quality standards, ensuring alignment with project KPIs and milestones. 
  • Process Improvements: Drive the development and implementation of process enhancements to improve the product delivery function, focusing on customer value, speed to market and complexity reduction.
  • People Management: Lead two direct reports in effectively managing Agile squads to deliver key health insurance product initiatives within cross-functional teams. Advocate for an agile approach to product delivery, evolving persistent teams to enhance end-to-end management from solution design to launch.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure successful delivery of business outcomes through strong stakeholder management and broader engagement across the organisation. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of Health Insurance strategies that protect and grow the business.
  • Budget and Change Management: Establish and manage budgets in alignment with milestones and commercial agreements, ensuring transparency and accurate forecasting. Oversee the management of risks, issues, and dependencies, including the change management process for assigned initiatives.

About You

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • 8+ years’ experience in a project management role, including management of large complex initiatives or change programs in a large matrix organisation.
  • Recognised and current project management qualifications from either AIPM or PMI.
  • Experience in people management and leading high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated understanding of standard program/ project techniques including reporting, scheduling, dependency manager and milestone tracking techniques within a Program Delivery Office environment.
  • Experience working across multiple streams in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
  • A continuous improvement mindset focus with an appreciation of customer experience, commercial drivers, business viability, business agility and technical feasibility.
  • Proven facilitation skills.
  • An ability to break constraints and get things done, including a willingness to roll up your sleeves and ‘pitch in’ where required.
  • Adept in working with large, complex and organisations with different delivery systems in place.
  • Significant leadership experience in managing compliance and regulatory change.
  • Strong written and presentation skills and the ability to convert data into insight and prepare compelling, persuasive reports and presentations.
  • Tertiary qualification in business/economics or related discipline.
  • Experience with project management tools including project, confluence.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
