The Opportunity

Bupa has embarked on an exciting new program to evolve its Healthcare Purchasing Plan (HPP), towards being the preferred partner of choice for healthcare providers. Our strategy involves optimising the business of today, while reimagining our relationship with healthcare providers to deliver the future of health and wellbeing and growing the business of tomorrow.

As part of the Health Transformation team, we have two newly created roles in which you’ll work closely with the Commercial Team and Engagement & Contracting Managers to identify, assess, and drive the implementation of partnership opportunities with key healthcare partners. These partnerships align with our Hospital Partnership Strategy and focus areas, helping deliver value across the broader Bupa business.

In this role, you’ll coordinate with our strategic execution team to ensure initiatives are properly scoped and delivered. Your work will be crucial to the success of Bupa’s Health Insurance business, contributing to our sustained performance and supporting our global strategic pillars: Customers, Growth, and Transformation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead strategic discussions with hospital partners, ensuring alignment with our Hospital Partnership Framework.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Team, Head of Health Transformation, and hospital partners to identify and implement value-driven opportunities.
  • Work with Commercial and Funding teams to develop commercials for key initiatives and innovations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with strategic healthcare providers alongside contract managers and the Head of Commercial.
  • Ensure agreed actions with hospital partners are implemented on time and track engagement progress.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of clear partnership plans, ensuring they are completed within agreed timelines.

Skills and Experience 

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, or relevant disciplines (project/change management skills desirable)
  • Experience in healthcare relationship management, with proven success in delivering projects or initiatives
  • Strong understanding of business planning, target management, and healthcare funding (experience with actuarial teams is an advantage)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to build senior-level relationships
  • Strong planning, time management, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of the Australian healthcare system, regulations, and reforms
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with high attention to detail
