Opportunity Snapshot:

As part of the Technology Team, this role will partner closely with business representatives to deliver high quality Lead Business Analysis services, at pace to drive strategic outcomes for Bupa’s customers. 

 Responsible for business analysis leadership within a domain, ensuring the effective articulation, and sign-off, of scope and requirements in alignment with business outcomes for change initiatives. Role dimension includes people management and continuous improvement of business analysis services within the domain

Your Contribution:

  • Business Analysis Leadership — Implement a structured methodology to capture scope and requirements, incl. business process, information flow, user experience, etc., and to ensure quality of work and sign-off by stakeholders 
  •  Business Analysis — Engage in business analysis activities for complex initiatives, typically in the forming stage, to influence and shape solution roadmap by providing must-have, should-have, could-have requirements and working with the solution architect to provide solution options and trade-off analysis 
  •  People Leadership — Develop deep subject matter expertise for the domain across the team and manage the ramping up/down of resources to meet business demand. Manage performance and capacity by working closely with other leaders through the planning cycle to ensure that we maximise the potential of our people. Effectively transition great people to areas of greater need (whether permanent or contingent team members) and supports career development. 
  •  Modern Ways of Working and Agile Mindset — Has a strong bias for working within an operating model which prioritises forming persistent long-lived teams of business and technology capability empowered to deliver on commercial and customer outcomes. Can coach and support teams and individuals to effectively utilise their specialised skills (i.e., business analysts to communicate ideas to improve customer and employee experiences and business process) to deliver results in cross-functional teaming environments. 
  •  One Bupa Technology — Works within the guardrails of the overall Bupa business and technology landscape to ensure that teams operate with the mindset of "freedom within a framework" to ensure that team members such as business analysts are empowered to make decisions while working to support the greater good beyond their scope. 
  •  Community - Proactively support the uplift of project delivery practices and participate in and contribute to Communities of Practice within Bupa. 

Qualifications and training 

  • Minimum 5 years with hands-on experience in business analysis within multi-disciplinary software delivery teams 
  •  Practical experience of operating hybrid delivery methods for technology development, including agile methodologies, waterfall delivery and lean, using various techniques such as use cases, process mapping, user stories, etc. 
  •  Experience working with delivery and collaboration toolsets, especially work systems e.g., MS Azure DevOps, Atlassian, etc. 
  •  Broad technology understanding of multiple platform types – this role requires sufficient technical understanding of various technical platforms within a domain to enable effective collaboration with technical teams as well as business and delivery team members 
  •  Excellent team and talent development skills, with evidence of having established high performing business analysis teams, including recruitment and career development.  Experience working within matrix structures, with demonstrated ability to broker outcomes effectively and collaboratively with colleagues and peers. 
  •  Evidence of continuous improvement, developing purposeful solutions and practices to improve applications, end-to-end solutions, and team performance. 
  •  Ability to work in an evolving environment of agile software delivery, or more traditional modes depending on the nature of the application and teaming requirements
