The opportunity:
We’re hiring a Head of Property Development for a newly created, high-impact role for Bupa Aged Care.

The Head of Property Development will partner with the business unit stakeholders to deliver customer and commercial outcomes that are aligned to Bupa Aged Care Australia enterprise strategy.
The purpose of the role will be to manage the delivery of efficient and effective construction projects in line with strategy, promoting consistency in practices and methodologies, development of key capabilities, simplifying governance and enhanced controls.
This is a permanent full-time role and can be based in Melbourne or Sydney with hybrid work arrangements.
How will I help?
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead the end-to end planning and performance of property development projects, including feasibility, design approvals and delivery oversight.
- Ensuring that detailed, demonstrable procedures are in place to support the delivery of projects and that an overall project management framework exists to ensure consistency across all projects.
- Liaising with and managing external consultants and suppliers as required to achieve desired project outcomes
- Ensuring compliance with legal obligations such as contractual, statutory and others as required and advised by the legal team and statutory authorities.
- Consistently applying skills, experience and actions towards the achievement of the operations team vision and mission, in line with Bupa Aged Care’s corporate direction.
- Competently managing stakeholder expectations, with regards to project delivery outcomes, timing and budgets.
- Managing competing or conflicting interests from different parties and creating solutions and processes which deliver the best result.
- Deliver expert guidance on identifying and evaluating development prospects
- Monitor property trends and market conditions to inform strategic decision making

What do I need?
- Significant experience within Property Development
- Extensive understanding of the construction industry
- Proven track record leading large-scale property development projects
- Professional experience managing construction projects across multiple sites
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to prepare and interpret business cases
- Strongly developed customer focus
- Experience influencing and advising at the executive level
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex information into actionable plans
- Strong analytical and risk assessment capability
- Commercial mindset with a focus on long-term value creation
- High level of integrity, accountability and attention to detail
- Previous experience within health care or aged care would be highly regarded
