Our role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead financial control, statutory reporting, and technical accounting across Bupa's growing Health Services business.

This is a key leadership role within the Financial Control team, responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the delivery of robust financial governance across a diverse portfolio of healthcare businesses.

As Bupa continues to expand its Health Services footprint through growth and acquisitions, this role will play a critical part in integrating newly acquired businesses, establishing consistent financial controls, and evolving accounting methodologies to support a complex and changing operating environment

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Leading the financial accounting and control function for the Health Services business.
  • Managing month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Overseeing statutory, regulatory, and external financial reporting obligations.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Bupa policies.
  • Driving a strong financial controls framework and ensuring effective governance across the business.
  • Leading technical accounting assessments and providing guidance on complex accounting treatments.
  • Providing financial oversight of specialised Dental Finance activities.
  • Supporting the establishment and implementation of Bupa's new Health Centres business.
  • Partnering with operational and finance stakeholders to improve processes, controls, and reporting outcomes.
  • Leading the finance integration of acquisitions and ensuring alignment to Bupa's financial frameworks.
  • Reviewing and modernising accounting methodologies to support future business growth.


What you’ll need to make it possible

  • Finance/Business degree qualified 
  • Postgraduate (CPA, CA) 
  • Experience in a senior capacity in a financial reporting/control function 
  • Skilled in the preparation of multi-currency consolidated financial statements. 
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards. 
  • Ability to plan for and unfailingly meet reporting deadlines. 
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and manage change. 
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly build relationships and influence senior stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas simply and to all levels and audiences within the organisation 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and in presentations 
  • Proactively takes ownership and acts with integrity to deliver required results 
  • Leadership capability which can influence team culture and change within the organisation 
  • Advanced excel skills, including use of complex formulae and macros
