The purpose of this role is…..

As part of the ADF Health Services team you will support service provision to Australia Defence Force (ADF) personnel and to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). Bupa delivers these services under a number of subcontractor relationships with significant governance requirements, reporting obligations and relationship management.

The Contract Governance Lead is responsible for providing a high level of governance support, with focus on contract administration within the Commercial team. This role reports directly to the Contract Governance Manager and will require an experienced, autonomous worker that can produce high quality, insightful and tailored support across a suite of contract administration activities concurrently. 

The key performance indicators for this role are insights, quality, attention to detail and timeliness. The role requires a commitment to quality and timely deliverables in a fast-paced complex environment.

Responsibilities include:

Supporting the Contract Governance Manager to:

  • Undertake the negotiations of commercial matters including new contracts and contract variations. 
  • Manage and evaluate Contract Change Proposals and Survey and Quotes requested by the business. 
  • Uplift the Obligations Management Framework and to manage, monitor and report on obligation management and performance to provide confidence to the business 
  • Lead, manage and discharge efficiently with a high level of accuracy the delivery of a large portfolio of contractual obligations such as, but not limited to, Contract Status Reporting, claims management, compliance attestations, holistic issues register management et al. 
  • Implement contract management processes in conjunction with the wider business to optimise the potential of Bupa's relationships with the Commonwealth and contractual compliance. 
  • Provide accurate, expert and timely advice, information and reports on the strategic and transactional aspects of contract management relevant to the contract portfolio to highlight any trends, forecasts or risks that require management intervention and/or strategic solutions for further action. 
  • Identify areas of non-compliance, default or sub-optimal performance, including drafting recommendations suggesting the corrective action to be taken and replies to the Commonwealth agencies on contractual issues. 
  • Establish and maintain the appropriate operating rhythm to ensure regular and appropriate contact is maintained and coordinated with stakeholders on issues related to contract administration. 
  • Provide Secretariat and administrative support to the Senior Secretariat Lead when required. 

What you’ll need to make it possible

  • This is a Security Cleared Position. The occupant must be an Australian Citizen and must be eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline will be highly regarded 
  • Significant experience working experience in contract management, contract compliance, procurement or commercial teams that manage complex contracts will be high regarded. 
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience maintaining contractual artifacts and developing and maintaining associated reporting tools. 
  • Advanced Microsoft skills.
