We have a great opportunity for an experienced Cloud FinOps Analyst to join our team. If you are passionate about cloud finance operations (Cloud FinOps), discovering insights from data and analytics, identifying cost saving opportunities and ensuring efficient use of the cloud resources ,we want to hear from you!

You can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. 

What’s your role?

At Bupa we’re doing amazing things with cloud. We have a large and growing public cloud footprint with an emphasis on PaaS and cloud-native systems. 

As a Cloud FinOps Analyst you will partner with technical teams to optimise their public cloud consumption, and support Bupa’s cost management practices.

Reporting to the Cloud FinOps Manager, you will support financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, consumption analysis, chargeback and analytics, and capacity management practices. You will also operate and evolve Bupa’s practices for rate optimisation including licencing and reservation portfolio management.

What will my day involve?

  • Analyse, report, and produce meaningful insights within cloud billing to identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to optimise cloud resource utilisation. 
  • Support the cloud budget and forecast process by managing consumption, chargeback, and tracking savings in collaboration with technical and finance teams
  • Monitor cloud consumption to detect, investigate, and escalate anomalies and unplanned spikes
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports that provide insight into usage and rate optimisation
  • Evaluate and investigate data patterns to derive insightful knowledge that can inform strategic and operational decisions
  • Participate in automating, integrating, and maturing the Cloud FinOps team’s processes and data


What will I bring?

  • Strong professional experience in cloud consumption/utilisation analysis.
  • Experience in, or desire to build knowledge of cloud spend analysis to derive insights
  • Ability to navigate, cleanse and integrate data to maintain an accurate self-service cost reporting platform
  • Ability to develop cost reporting dashboards using cloud cost management tools such as Cloudability, CloudHealth, PowerBI etc..
  • Experience in general cost management practices: budgeting, cost forecasting and tracking
  • Practical knowledge of cloud cost management capabilities, pricing models.
  • Deep analytical, critical thinking and quantitative skills
  • Cloud fundamental certification(s) – Azure , GCP, AWS 
  • FinOps certification, or ability to achieve within 6 months
