Systems Training Support Specialist

The opportunity

Our Quality and Education team is driven by a passion for creating meaningful learning experiences in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment. We’re looking for a creative and skilled Systems Training Support Specialist to join our Education & Development team — someone who thrives at the intersection of systems, content design, and learner experience.

Supporting the Bupa Village Aged Care Australia team requires a dynamic, blended learning approach that prioritises online and microlearning to effectively engage a geographically dispersed workforce. Our strategy ensures that all learning—whether mandatory, role-specific, or optional—is fit for purpose, accessible across varying levels of digital access, and designed to deliver a contemporary, engaging, and impactful user experience.

This is a 12 month fixed term contact, full-time position.

How will I help?

  • Needs Assessment & Learning Strategy: Leverage data, stakeholder input, and learner feedback to identify development priorities and design tailored learning journeys for diverse cohorts, aligning with business strategy and compliance requirements.
  • Capability Scoping & Solution Design: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to scope, recommend, and cost learning solutions—balancing existing resources with innovative tools and systems to deliver impactful, scalable interventions.
  • Instructional Design & Content Development: Design and curate high-quality, engaging learning experiences—across instructor-led, online, and blended formats—applying adult learning principles and adapting content to meet varying learner needs.
  • Learning Systems & Data Management: Support LMS operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain system documentation while ensuring accurate data, robust reporting, and meaningful insights for performance, compliance tracking and data management using Power BI.
  • Collaboration & Community Engagement: Actively contribute to BupaLearn's Community of Practice, influence design improvements, share best practices, and enhance learner experience by identifying alignment opportunities across embedded teams.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends in learning design through external networks and events; identify inefficiencies, propose improvements, and drive innovation in learning delivery and administration.

What do I need?

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Organisational Psychology, Psychology, Education, or equivalent; alternatively, a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment combined with strong capability development experience is highly regarded.
  • Proven expertise in learning design and curation, with experience developing content for diverse employee groups across various delivery formats.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, with a track record of effectively applying them to create engaging and impactful learning experiences.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships that drive meaningful learning outcomes and align with business needs.
  • Proficiency in Power BI for managing, analysing, and visualising data.
  • Highly organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear, compelling messaging and effective collaboration across all levels of the organisation.

Customer care during COVID

When COVID-19 hit we knew we had a responsibility to care for our customers by putting them at the heart of our decisions.

For this reason, in April 2020 our Health Insurance team invested over $50M and created the hardship team to support our customers when they most needed it.

Celebrate Wear it Purple Day and be the change

Wear it Purple was started to raise awareness of the discrimination faced by LGBTIQ+ youth, and the higher levels of suicide, depression and anxiety they experience as a result.

Ban the asterisk

Our customers have told us that our products can be confusing and complex when we add an asterisk (*) with fine print in our policies. To respond to our customers’ needs, in 2020 the Product Deisgn Squad was created to make our products simpler, more relecant and personalised. Here’s how putting our customers at the heart of everything helped the team ban the *.
