The Psychiatrist at Mindplace provides high quality, evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to clients presenting with a range of mental health conditions. Working within Mindplace’s private multidisciplinary model of care, the role emphasises collaborative practice, clinical leadership, and person-centred treatment planning to support positive clinical outcomes and continuity of care.
The position works in partnership with clients and actively engages with their professional and personal support networks. It applies advanced clinical judgement to assess how coordinated supports can enhance outcomes for individuals, families, kinship systems, and the broader community.
About the Role
Bupa are seeking a psychiatrist fulltime in either Sydney or Melbourne
As a Psychiatrist at Mindplace, you’ll be a pivotal part of our team, shaping the future of mental health services with Bupa. This role is a patient-facing clinical position where you will be seeing Bupa customers and others who wish to utilise the Bupa services. This is an opportunity to drive meaningful change and innovate new ways to support mental health journeys throughout Australia.
In this role, you’ll:
- Deliver comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and risk formulation, developing targeted, individualised treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring progress and adjusting care to optimise outcomes.
- Provide ongoing, recovery-oriented care that is trauma-informed and culturally responsive.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to case reviews and delivering integrated, high-quality care.
- Provide specialist advice and liaise with GPs, hospitals, and external providers to ensure coordinated, seamless support.
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance, documentation, and professional practice, while contributing to quality improvement and, where relevant, clinical leadership.

About you
We’re seeking an experienced Psychiatrist with:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and Specialist Registration with AHPRA (unrestricted).
- Minimum 7+ years of current clinical experience across a broad range of mental health presentations.
- Eligibility to provide Medicare-funded psychiatry services.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) in line with AHPRA and RANZCP requirements.
- Strong clinical judgement, professionalism, and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Active participation in supervision, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.
