The purpose of the role

The Senior Technical Business Analyst leads a small team and contributes to the realisation of value for the Health Insurance (HI) business unit from our data programs and data initiatives.  In this business-facing role, you'll partner with leaders, influencing outcomes through clear, confident communication in a hybrid delivery model.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Technical Business Analysis Leadership — Implement a structured methodology to capture scope and requirements.
  • Technical Business Analysis — Engage in business analysis activities for complex initiatives, typically in the forming stage, to influence and shape solution roadmap.
  • Data Analysis – Engage in complex data analysis to support business rules, business requirements and testing outcomes. 
  • One Bupa Technology — Work within the guardrails of the overall Bupa business and technology landscape to ensure that teams operate with the mindset of "freedom within a framework" 
  • Community - Proactively support the uplift of project delivery practices and participate in and contribute to Communities of Practice within Bupa

This hybrid role is offered on a 12-month contract, full time hours, positioned in Melbourne or Sydney.

What you’ll need to make it possible 

  • Proven experience in a business-facing role, with strong communication and influencing skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst operating in Health Insurance regulated industry (preferred) and proficient in business analysis capability in multidisciplinary delivery teams. 
  • People leadership capabilities managing and developing high performing BA teams.
  • Technical skills in SQL, and/or Databricks and Python.
  • Experienced in hybrid delivery methods such as Agile, Waterfall and Lean, using techniques such as user stories, use cases and process mapping. 
  • Skilled in using delivery and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps and Atlassian, with proven ability to operate effectively in matrix environments and broker outcomes collaboratively.
