The opportunity:

We are on the lookout for a Senior Sourcing Manager to join our Procurement & Property APAC team to focus on the Medical portfolio.

This is a key role that will drive the development and execution of sourcing strategies. This involves ensuring best-value outcomes through effective market engagement, supplier negotiations, and commercial management. The Senior Sourcing Manager will accelerate the achievement of strategic and financial objectives through procurement best practices, excellent cross-functional stakeholder management and engagement, and operational execution.

Additionally, this role will have responsibility for proactively identifying opportunities for sourcing strategy development and execution relating to project/high impact initiatives across all spend categories. This also includes acting as a key support to the Head of Sourcing by providing insights, stepping in to resolve issues, acting as delegate when required to ensure continuity of operations and is a trusted advisor and mentor to the sourcing team.

The permanent full-time position will be based from Bupa's Exhibition Street offices in Melbourne and offers hybrid work arrangements.

Key accountabilities include:

• Proactively initiates development and executes sourcing strategies for the medical/financial portfolio and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of Bupa’s overarching sourcing strategy. 
• Actively supports the Head of Sourcing and contributes to the design of enterprise-wide sourcing principles and policies. 
• Actively contribute to a high-performing and collaborative sourcing team environment. 
• Leads by example in continuous development by actively engaging in professional development and procurement team learning initiatives. 
• Lead end-to-end project/high impact sourcing events in accordance with company process, including stakeholder engagement, strategy development, baseline validation, RFx management, supplier negotiations, contract finalisation and stakeholder interactions during and after the sourcing process. 
• Coordinate with Legal and stakeholders to support contract drafting and execution.
• Lead negotiation activities for the assigned portfolio to secure favourable commercial terms. Implement and drive supplier performance measures and be accountable for managing ongoing value delivery. 
• Engaging and influencing a range of key business stakeholders to deliver outcomes. Key to this will be collaboration with key business stakeholders and other Procurement team members. 
• Act as an SME, trusted advisor, and key point of contact for operational supplier matters across the medical/financial portfolio. 
• Support the Head of Sourcing by partnering with stakeholders across the APAC business to resolve competing priorities as they arise. 
• Proactively identify and deliver sourcing education opportunities to internal stakeholders, supporting the advancement of Bupa’s procurement capability and maturity.

What do I need?

• Relevant graduate or post graduate qualifications in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Supply Chain Operations, Engineering or Law
• MCIPS (CIPSA) or Project Management (eg. PMP) qualifications highly regarded.
• 15+ years experience in Procurement and/or strategic sourcing, from strategy development to execution.
• Proven experience in leading successful commercial negotiations, with evidence of applied innovative thinking, negotiation skills, and strategic negotiation planning. 
• Highly proficient in preparing and evaluating business cases, risk profiles and cost models.
• High levels of attention to detail and ability to test levels of transparency and/or accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate with cross-functional and indirect teams within the procurement function.
• Category experience crucial and industry knowledge preferred. 
• Ability to articulate performance imperatives and hold partners accountable to service level agreements / resolve escalated issues.
• Experience with developing metrics, projections, and financial models.
• A strong understanding of customer experience and customer-centricity principles 
• Ability to proactively take ownership and act with integrity to deliver required results 
• Strong commercial business acumen and stakeholder management capabilities. 
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas simply and influence at all levels and audiences within the organisation. 
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders, working across organisational structures. 
• A pragmatic, approachable and supportive engagement style; proven ability to work with senior leaders to meet agreed outcomes.
