The purpose of this role:
As a Senior Legal Adviser - Employment and Litigation (12-month fixed-term contract), you will play a key role in providing trusted legal advice across Bupa's APAC business. Working within a broad and complex legal environment, you'll partner with leaders and stakeholders to advise on employment law, industrial relations, workplace health and safety, litigation and regulatory matters, helping the business navigate legal risk and meet its obligations.
This is a varied and high-impact role where you'll provide practical, solutions-focused advice on workplace and employment matters, manage disputes and litigation, and support regulatory compliance across a diverse range of businesses. Working closely with senior legal leaders, you'll contribute to the delivery of high-quality legal support, engage with external counsel where required, and advise stakeholders on complex and sensitive matters across the APAC region.
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Completed a degree in law and hold a current practising certificate.
- At least 8 years’ PQE in-house and/or private practise with experience in employment/workplace law and dispute resolution.
- Advocacy experience is desirable (at State and Federal level - particularly in the Fair Work Commission).
- Experience advising on the interpretation and application of enterprise agreements, modern awards and other industrial instruments.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- Post-graduate, or other specialist legal qualifications would be desirable
