Bupa Dental, Optical & Hearing brings our purpose to life through its role as Australia’s leading provider of dental, optical and hearing services, committed to service 1 in 4 Bupa HI members and continuing to grow the non-member customer base. Reporting to the Commercial & Performance Manager, The Strategy Associate supports the delivery of enterprise-wide strategic and transformation initiatives by primarily partnering with HI and Other HS businesses under the enterprise opportunity.
About the Role:
12 month fixed term opportunity based in Sydney or Melbourne
The role partners closely with DOH Commercial LT, operational leaders, finance, clinical support teams, and HS Data & Analytics team to improve business performance, enhance patient/member outcomes, and drive sustainable growth. This role combines strategic analysis, commercial acumen, enterprise delivery, and operational performance management to support execution of key organisational priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of enterprise strategic priorities across the DOH business
- Coordinate strategic initiatives spanning clinical operations, customer experience, retail/health services, and support functions
- Assist in development of transformation roadmaps and implementation plans
- Track initiative progress, risks, dependencies, and benefit realisation
- Analyse operational, financial, and customer performance trends across the DOH network
- Develop performance dashboards and executive reporting packs
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, patient/member experience, revenue growth, and operational efficiency
- Support performance review cycles and business rhythm processes (BPR packs, CVP, Product and key driver performance)
- Prepare business cases and commercial assessments for strategic initiatives
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and investment prioritisation activities
- Conduct scenario modelling and ROI analysis for growth and transformationn programs
- Assist with tracking financial benefits and operational outcomes
- Support governance frameworks across enterprise initiatives and programs
- Prepare Steering Committee and ELT/DOHLT leadership presentations
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholder engagement and delivery activities
- Ensure alignment between strategic priorities and operational execution
- Partner with leaders across operations, finance, clinical, property, technology, and capability hub
- Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, and business performance reviews
You will have:
- Tertiary qualified in business or related discipline
- 3–6 years’ experience in strategy, transformation, consulting, commercial, or business performance roles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft software including Word and PowerPoint
- Develop financial models to predict revenue, costs and profit under various scenarios
- The ability to problem solve and think critically with financial and commercial acumen
- A high level of drive and energy for results, with the ability to explain recommendations
- A proven ability to analyse and interpret a range of data and results, identify opportunities, and build recommendations to deliver improved performance or optimal outcome
- Ability to work with senior management to drive end-to-end outcomes in a range of business initiatives
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide initiatives or PMO functions
