About the Role
Bupa are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst on a fixed term 12 month contract fulltime basis, can be based in Melbourne or Sydney
The Senior Business Analyst will play a pivotal role throughout the entire Systems Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring seamless alignment between business needs and technical solutions. This includes conducting in-depth analyses of customer and stakeholder requirements, assisting designers and developers in translating these needs into actionable requirements, and supporting testing and implementation phases as necessary. Additionally, the Analyst will manage and maintain workflows using project management tools such as Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Monday.com, facilitating efficient collaboration and project tracking across teams.
Role Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Product Owners and Managers to develop a deep understanding of customer challenges and identify opportunities.
- Plan, establish, and facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather insights and align on objectives.
- Conduct Cost/Benefit Analysis to support Exploration and Discovery proposals, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Develop Current and Future state process documentation to guide system improvements.
- Create Business Requirement Specifications (BRS) and Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS) using standard templates and guidelines.
- Challenge assumptions by asking 'why' to ensure optimal solutions for the business and customers.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop clear and actionable product backlogs that deliver desired outcomes.
- Define concise acceptance criteria to support delivery teams and testers.
- Proactively support the uplift of Agile practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Mentor and support Associate Business Analysts to enhance analysis skills and domain knowledge.
What you will bring to the role
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in business analysis, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity leading complex projects and Agile product deliveries.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop mid-level and junior Business Analysts, enhancing team capability and domain knowledge.
- Demonstrated expertise in facilitating stakeholder workshops for requirements elicitation and Discovery phases, engaging senior stakeholders effectively.
- Skilled in process mapping using MS Visio, translating business processes into clear visual representations.
- Extensive experience working within cross functional teams, ensuring cohesive project execution and alignment with business objectives.
- Proficient in various project delivery methodologies, including Hybrid, Waterfall, and Agile, adapting approaches to project needs.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and ceremonies, such as Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-ups, Iteration/Release Planning, and Sprint Reviews.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field (desirable).
