Be at the heart of it!

We have a clear ambition to be the world's most customer-centric healthcare company. To bring our ambition to life, we are evolving how we do things to create value for our customers now and into the future. Our global purpose is to help our customers live healthier and happier lives. Just imagine the impact you could make.

How will you make an impact?

As a Mobile Designer, you’ll craft intuitive, user-centred experiences for iOS, Android, and wearable platforms that make it easier for customers to connect with the right services and complete key journeys across our mobile ecosystem. From discovery through to delivery, you’ll collaborate with product, research, content, and engineering teams to design journeys, flows, and prototypes that improve outcomes. You’ll also support usability testing and the creation of dev-ready assets, ensuring designs are consistent, scalable, and inclusive, aligned with Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Google Material Design.

This is a 12 mth full-time fixed term role (with a possibility to go permanent), based in Melbourne or Sydney, with flexible hybrid working arrangements (a mix of working from home and in-office collaboration as required).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design mobile user journeys, flows, and interfaces that are intuitive, evidence-based, and aligned with accessibility standards.
  • Create wireframes and prototypes for iOS, Android, and wearables to bring concepts to life and validate ideas through usability testing.
  • Collaborate with researchers, content designers, and engineers to ensure seamless delivery of mobile experiences.
  • Deliver polished, production-ready design assets and specifications to developers for implementation.
  • Apply design system components and maintain consistency across all mobile touchpoints.
  • Document design decisions clearly and present solutions confidently to stakeholders.
  • Support workshops and co-design sessions to gather insights and foster collaboration.
  • Continuously iterate designs based on feedback and research findings to improve customer outcomes.

About You

We’re looking for a versatile Mobile Designer who combines strong UX and UI skills with a customer-first mindset, thrives in collaborative environments, and can confidently turn complex journeys into intuitive, accessible mobile experiences.

You will bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience in experience, product, or service design roles.
  • Familiarity with iOS, Android, and wearable design, including Apple HIG and Google Material Design.
  • Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma) and ability to create user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Strong understanding of usability testing, journey mapping, and iterative design practices.
  • Experience working with design systems and applying accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2).
  • Ability to work autonomously and confidently present your work to stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills for cross-functional environments.
  • Familiarity with Human-Centred Design, systems thinking, and inclusive design principles.
  • Comfortable working in agile delivery environments and adapting to evolving priorities.

Customer care during COVID

When COVID-19 hit we knew we had a responsibility to care for our customers by putting them at the heart of our decisions.

For this reason, in April 2020 our Health Insurance team invested over $50M and created the hardship team to support our customers when they most needed it.

Celebrate Wear it Purple Day and be the change

Wear it Purple was started to raise awareness of the discrimination faced by LGBTIQ+ youth, and the higher levels of suicide, depression and anxiety they experience as a result.

Ban the asterisk

Our customers have told us that our products can be confusing and complex when we add an asterisk (*) with fine print in our policies. To respond to our customers’ needs, in 2020 the Product Deisgn Squad was created to make our products simpler, more relecant and personalised. Here’s how putting our customers at the heart of everything helped the team ban the *.
