Opportunity Snapshot
Join Bupa as a Digital & Health Services Technology Risk Manager (line 1) and play a pivotal role in embedding risk management frameworks across our technology teams. You'll partner with stakeholders at all levels to drive governance, support risk policy delivery, and ensure alignment with Bupa’s Risk Management Strategy.
Reporting to the Head of Risk & Enablement APAC, this permanent position is offered as hybrid with flexible working, located in Melbourne.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with the Technology division to support risk management activities, including incident reporting, regulatory change, and obligation monitoring.
- Identify and escalate process and control improvement opportunities, ensuring appropriate thresholds and triggers are enforced.
- Develop and maintain technology risk profiles for Digital and Health Services Technology teams, including documentation of new controls.
- Design and execute control testing plans to validate the effectiveness of key risk controls and ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Lead remediation efforts for incidents and findings, ensuring sustainable solutions and leveraging insights to strengthen the control environment.
- Support risk uplift initiatives, including implementation of new systems (e.g., SAI 360 GRC, IMS) and risk-in-change processes for agile delivery teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary graduate in Technology, Risk Management or relevant discipline.
- 8–10 years’ experience in Digital and Business Technology Risk, including risk-in-change roles.
- Proven background in first- or second-line risk functions, with strong assurance and governance expertise.
- Deep understanding of risk, governance, and quality assurance processes.
- Skilled in identifying and escalating emerging risks appropriately.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills including experience presenting to senior management teams.
- Possesses an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Highly organised and adaptable, with the ability to remain effective and focused in high-energy fast-moving environments.
- Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes through consultation, collaboration and conciliation.
- Information Systems Aduit and Control Association (ISACA) qualifications highly regarded.
