The Opportunity
We have an opening for a Head of Strategy - Planning & Performance APAC to join the Corporate Strategy team positioned within Bupa’s Customer & Transformation Office. This position is available as on a 12-month parental leave contract, full time hours (with flexible working arrangements) and may be based from our Melbourne or Sydney offices.

Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Delivery APAC, this role is accountable for leading and managing the APAC Strategy team in:
- shaping and driving the management, reporting and forecasting of Bupa’s 3x100 strategy and KPIs across APAC;
- overall management of key strategic planning processes including the 3 Year Plan (3YP), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs);
- Commercial problem solving and coordination on specific issues relating to strategic execution; e.g. via Enterprise Trade, Enterprise Roadmap, etc; and
- regular reporting including monthly CEO/ELT/Control Tower reports, ANZ/Global Board reports, APAC Business Performance Committee (BPC)/ Global Chief Executive Committee (CEC) reports.
The role requires an elevated level of influence and visibility across APAC Senior Leaders, particularly Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Directors, Enterprise Delivery Office (EDO), Group Strategy & Transformation teams, and the APAC Office of CEO and Board Secretariat.

About You
We are seeking a tertiary qualified Senior Strategy Leader with experience working on strategy engagements and/or corporate planning & reporting roles. The Head of Strategy – Planning & Performance APAC will lead a high-performing strategy team and seamlessly step into the Director of Strategy role during periods of leave.
In addition, you will bring to the role:
- Commercial & Financial Acumen – Deep understanding of financial impacts and business value drivers to inform sound decision-making.
- Customer-Driven Insight – Strong analytical skills and commercial intuition, paired with a deep understanding of customer and consumer behaviour, including management of APAC business performance insights, reporting and KPIs.
- Decisive Leadership – Proven ability to think both strategically and operationally, taking early corrective action to keep performance and projects on track.
- Influential Senior Stakeholder Communicator - Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and inspire confidence across all levels.
- Strategic Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration - Proven ability to develop strategies, work across functions in large matrixed organizations, and navigate a dynamic, ambiguous environment.
