We currently have a fantastic Head of People opportunity to support our Information Technology team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

The purpose of this role is to work with the People Director, the Leadership Team, and the broader Bupa People team to develop and execute on a people strategy that both underpins delivery of the business strategy and engages and develops our people to deliver our purpose. This role needs to have a strong customer focus and build deep connections to the business unit to ensure the people strategy supports the business model now and in the future.

This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney with hybrid work arrangements available.

How will I help?

Key accountabilities include:

  • Develop and deliver both the strategic and operational People Plan considering macro trends and ensuring a customer-centric perspective.
  • Lead the business unit People Partnering team, to drive high engagement and performance.
  • Lead the delivery of cyclical people activities and services to agreed performance standards with a strong focus on metrics, risk, and compliance.
  • Bring HR expertise to the Leadership Teams and actively contribute to the success of the broader Bupa APAC business strategy.
  • Scope and oversee the delivery of strategic people projects, including organisational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Develop workforce plans for key workforce segments, including talent identification, and planning.
  • Advise and coach senior leaders on talent, succession, and leadership, ensuring alignment with the strategic workforce plan.
  • Deliver talent management initiatives to address succession gaps, build capability, and develop critical skills within the business unit.
  • Partner closely with the People team Centres of Excellence (COE) to drive innovative and strategic people initiatives that are aligned to customer needs.
  • Serve as an escalation point on workplace relations matters, providing pragmatic and legally compliant advice.

What do I need?

  • Significant generalist HR experience at a senior level within large complex organisations
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with senior leaders and influence stakeholders, providing strategic and operational counsel
  • Experience designing and executing fit for purpose People Plans with demonstrable measurable improvements in key people metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and implement a broad range of contemporary HR and organisational development strategies and practices
  • Knowledge and experience within industrial and employee relations, with specific experience and understanding of the Fair Work Act, NES, Award and EA interpretation.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting and influencing commercial outcomes, comfortable interpreting and understanding the business key financial metrics
  • Strong people leadership capability - previous experience leading a team
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, confident in ability to make a meaningful difference to the business
