The role purpose.
At Bupa, we're transforming the way technology enables better health outcomes for our customers and people. We're looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect, Cloud & Networking to join our Technology Operations team and provide architectural leadership across cloud, networking, infrastructure, and security domains. This is a highly strategic role where you'll influence enterprise technology direction, shape investment decisions, and ensure our cloud and network architecture supports Bupa's broader business and technology strategy.
As an Enterprise Architect, you'll provide clear, practical architecture leadership across cloud, networking, and security, helping simplify complex technology roadmaps and enabling successful delivery across Health Insurance and Health Services.
You'll operate as a trusted advisor to senior technology and business leaders, translating enterprise strategy into actionable architecture, guiding key decisions, and ensuring architectural intent is delivered through scalable and secure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate cloud, networking and infrastructure architecture strategies aligned to enterprise objectives.
- Shape and influence investment pathways and technology roadmaps.
- Provide enterprise-level architectural leadership across Technology Operations.
- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, standardised and aligned with enterprise architecture principles and NIST security standards.
- Partner with engineering, product and delivery teams to drive successful outcomes.
- Govern architecture decisions and support strategic technology initiatives.
- Simplify complex architecture challenges and provide clear guidance to stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with business and technology executives, influencing decisions across the organisation.

What you’ll need to make it possible
- 10+ years' experience in architecture roles, spanning Enterprise, Solution and Engineering Architecture with deep expertise across, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Enterprise Networking, Infrastructure Architecture, Security Architecture, Cloud Governance and Operating Models
- Proven experience translating business strategy into executable technology roadmaps
- Experience influencing senior executives and driving enterprise-wide architecture decisions
- Strong understanding of security, risk and governance frameworks, including NIST
- Experience operating within large corporate environments or leading consulting organisations
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification highly regarded
- Azure Architecture certifications preferred
- Security and architecture certifications such as CISSP, SABSA or similar advantageous
