The purpose of this role:

As the Employee Relations Team Lead, you will play a key role in delivering a positive, responsive and trusted employee relations experience across the organisation. Leading and developing a team of People Advisors, you will provide coaching, guidance and escalation support to enable consistent, high-quality advice and outcomes. You will contribute your expertise to complex or nuanced matters as required, working collaboratively with Strategic People Partners, Senior Leaders and subject matter experts to ensure fair, practical and well considered resolutions.


This role also focuses on building organisational and leadership capability, strengthening service delivery and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.You will use insights and data to inform improvements, support policy and process development, and strengthen the frameworks, governance and ways of working that support reliable, high quality people advice.


What you’ll need to make it possible

  • Substantial experience in ER case management (5+ years) within a large and complex organisation, with a consistent record of delivering fair, practical and balanced outcomes. 
  • Tertiary graduate or post-graduate degree in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Industrial/Workplace Relations, Law or related field will be highly regarded. 
  • Strong knowledge of people policies, procedures and employment frameworks, with experience applying these to provide sound, commercially focused HR and ER advice.
  • Well-developed stakeholder management capability, including the ability to build trust, work collaboratively and influence effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex or sensitive matters clearly and appropriately for different audiences. 
  • Experience conducting and supporting complex employee relations investigations with professionalism and sound judgement. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching or developing teams or stakeholders to build confidence, capability and consistency. 
  • Proven involvement in supporting, developing or implementing ER and HR strategies, frameworks, systems, processes or policies.
