About the Role
As a Business Administrator, known at Bupa as a Customer Service Consultant (CSC), you will work closely with another CSC and our General Manager. In addition to being one of the welcoming faces of our care home, you will handle a variety of administrative tasks that support the smooth operation of the home. A key part of this role includes managing the Employee Services function.

Duties
Each CSC has their own set of responsibilities. Typically, one focuses on Employee Services and the other on Resident Placement, while both share reception duties. This position will primarily focus on Employee Services. Below are examples of tasks you may handle, though you won’t be responsible for all of them!
- Employee Service - Support and enhance the employee experience at the care home by managing key processes such as rosters, payroll, training, compliance, HR and recruitment activities. You’ll also handle onboarding and induction for new starters, and manage annual and sick leave within the roster system.
- Resident Placement - Be the first point of contact for prospective residents and their families by providing a warm, welcoming, and informative introduction to the care home. You’ll take the lead in managing enquiries and coordinating the admissions process.
- Concierge / Reception / Admin - Lead the customer and administrative experience for the care home, ensuring exceptional service and smooth operations at all times.
Skills and Experience
- Patience! Working in a care home is fun and rewarding, we truly love our residents, but it also requires calm and patience, and a sunny disposition.
- Everyone says they need great communication skills, but diplomacy and a proactive approach is particularly important in this role. You might be speaking to a worried family, or a confused resident, and although you cannot always provide answers, you can reassure and follow up.
- Intermediate to advanced skills across the MS Office Suite.
- Previous experience gained in a similar admin/customer service role.
- Previous experience in rosters, payroll and general HR function including recruitment.
- Highly developed organisation and time management skills, prioritisation and self-direction is key in this role.
