Carer Therapist

The Care Therapist (known as a Carer at Bupa) works under the guidance of allied health professionals to support implementation of the resident's plan of care by hosting group and individual therapy sessions and supporting telehealth assessments and undertakes other general Carer activities as required. Use your experience as a Carer and gain training as an Allied Health Assistant.
This role offers you the part time opportunity of a fixed roster of 9am to 3pm within the Monday to Friday work week, which is great for those looking to work school hours! You will be able to pick up additional hours as a Carer if you are looking to work full time hours.
Your key duties in this role:
- Telehealth consultations: Be the conduit that connects the resident to the Physiotherapist, Dietitian and other Allied Health Practitioners (AHP) via Telehealth using MS Teams.
- Individualised Resident Programs/Interventions: Provide AHP prescribed interventions/therapies such as an exercise program that is supervised by the Physiotherapist.
- Exercise Group/s: Take residents through general exercise sessions such as a seated exercise class or walking groups and will be equipped with a variety of exercises
- Wellness Hub Meetings: Participate in interdisciplinary team collaboration to provide the Care Team with a deeper understanding of each referred resident’s clinical situation and
- Leecare reporting: Complete progress notes following any Telehealth consult and chart any completed exercise programs.
You will model Bupa’s values and work in accordance with Bupa Health and Safety policy, always applying safe working practices and procedures and manage risk and compliance obligations.
What will you bring?
- Min Certificate 3 qualification in either; Ageing, Individual Support, Care or Disability
- Ability to provide safe medication administration
- Previous experience or a qualification as Allied Health Assistant advantageous but not essential
- A passion and energy for world class care
- Ability to work as part of a tight-knit team and complete the tasks delegated to you safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong understanding of Resident Rights, and Aged Care Accreditation Standards and their Outcomes
