What is available to you
Types of assignments
- Permanent Relocation – When an employee moves from one country to another on a permanent basis or is hired internationally with Bupa providing relocation support.
- Long Term Assignment – An assignment from one country to another for 1–3 years. The employee’s family accompanies them, with a future career plan in place for when they return.
- Short Term Assignment – An assignment from one country to another for 6 weeks to 12 months. The employee is unaccompanied, with a role plan in place on return.
- Commuter Assignment – When an employee frequently travels from one country to another, spending at least 6 weeks in the overseas location within a 12-month period. The employee is unaccompanied, with a career plan on return.
- Virtual Assignment – An arrangement where an employee works for the benefit of another country while based in their home country.
Programme moves
- Short Term Program Move (6–12 months) – Part of a talent mobility program such as leadership development.
- International Assignments (12, 24, or 36 months) – Provide career and growth opportunities for ELA employees and above, supporting leadership pipelines.
- Aged Care Study Tour (2–3 weeks) – A short programme designed to develop key aged care provider relationships and encourage cross-market collaboration.

What is the process to be considered for a role outside of my home country?
All global moves need to be assessed for eligibility in each country. It is important to note that even if the opportunity looks to be suitable for you, there are immigration restrictions in each country which means we need to assess candidate eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
What is the minimum criteria to be considered for Global Mobility?
You should have been an employee of Bupa for a minimum of 12 months.
