What is available to you
Types of assignments
- Permanent: Where an employee moves from one country to another on a permanent basis or, where an employed is hired internationally and Bupa provides relocation support.
- Long Term: An assignment from one country to another for a period or 1-3 years. The employee’s family would accompany them and there is a plan in place for the future career of the employee when they return after the assignment.
- Short Term: An assignment from one country to another for a period of 6 weeks to 12 months. The employee is unaccompanied and there is a plan in place for the future career of the employee at Bupa when they return from assignment.
- Virtual: An arrangement where an employee based in one country performs a role for the benefit of another country and this creates a potential tax exposure for Bupa.
- Commuter: An assignment where an employee frequently travels from one country to another where that employee spends at least 6 weeks in the overseas location within any 12-month period. The employee is unaccompanied and there is a plan in place for the future career of the employee at Bupa when they return from assignment.
Programme moves
- Short Term:
- Duration: 6-12 months
- Purpose: Leadership development and business growth
- International Assignments:
- Duration: 1-3 years
- Purpose: EL4+ career growth, leadership pipeline
- Agent Class Study Tour:
- Duration: Short, Intensive trip
- Purpose: Build agent & provider relationships
What is the process to be considered for a role outside of my home country?
All global moves need to be assessed for eligibility in each country. It is important to note that even if the opportunity looks to be suitable for you, there are immigration restrictions in each country which means we need to assess candidate eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
What is the minimum criteria to be considered for Global Mobility?
You should have been an employee of Bupa for a minimum of 12 months.
