Why this program exists

Starting out in dentistry is exciting — but it can also feel overwhelming. This program exists to give you the confidence, competence and support you need to succeed in your first year of practice. It’s designed not only to strengthen your clinical skills, but to build a workforce that delivers quality care and is proud to be part of something bigger.

Launched in 2023, the program has already supported dozens of early-career dentists to grow into independent clinicians across metro, regional and remote communities. We’ve seen firsthand how structure, mentorship and opportunity can shape the kind of dentist — and career — you want to become.

Learning and Development

Over the course of the year, you’ll take part in formal and informal learning designed to stretch your thinking and grow your capability. You’ll attend three in-person workshops alongside fellow grads, plus monthly webinars covering topics such as:

• Communication and patient consent
• Clinical governance
• Health and wellbeing in the workplace
