- What types of position do you typically hire for?
- Do i need to submit a separate application for every role I'm interested in?
It’s best that you apply for all roles you are interested in. Once you have applied for a role with us, your profile will be stored in our application system talent pool, and we may contact you if there is another role that looks like it might suit you.
- Do you do background checks?
As part of the selection process for all roles, Bupa carries out a National Police Record check. If you have lived overseas for more than five years, an International Police Record Check for the country or countries you lived in will also be undertaken. We also complete a Right to Work check as part of our background process. We’ll also check in with your references. For roles in our aged care homes, we require all employees to have a current Influenza Vaccination.
Moving to Australia
- Do you offer migration assistance?
We work with a registered migration agent who will provide migration advice to assist you in gaining the required work visa. You can be reassured that you and your family will be assisted throughout the immigration procedure.
- Do you have any opportunities that's available for sponsorship?
Bupa may offer sponsorship, in line with Australia’s immigration requirements, to aged care workers who are successful in obtaining a position in one of our care homes.
- Do I need health insurance to work in Australia?

- What do I do if I don't meet AHPRA's requirements?
If you don’t meet the requirements because your qualifications or experience are not recognised, you might want to consider pursuing a 'Training visa - subclass 407’ to allow you to undertake a bridging program to improve your skills. - What visas do you offer?

We support our existing team when seeking permanent residency after they have spent three years working with us on the 482 visa to transition to Permanent Residency. - Do you require any English tests? What score should I get to meet the English requirements for nurses?
Yes, You need to meet the English requirement for nurses.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS academic module): At least 7 for each of the 4 test components.
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE academic): At least 65 for each of the 4 test components
- Occupational English Test (OET): At least B for each of the 4 test components
- Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT): At least 24 for listening, 24 for reading, 27 for writing and 23 for speaking
