In 2021 Bupa is proud to have expanded our Health Services contract with the Australian Defence Force to the provision of services to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). As part of Bupa’s service offering, Bupa assists the Department of Veterans’ Affairs by providing high-quality clinical advice.
About the role
The Transition Medical Assessment Pilot Project (TMAPP) aims to expedite claim determination for medically transitioning Australian Defence Force (ADF) members with complex medical situations by providing high quality medical evidence to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) at the time of claim submission and prior to discharge from the ADF.
As part of this program, we’re looking for a Registered Nurse Manager who will be responsible for leading the TMAPP workforce to effectively coordinate delivery of services. RNM responsibilities include:
- Leading effective delivery of services to TMAPP participants
- Implement and manage clinical governance practices
- Managing day-to-day project management activities including developing and managing project plans and schedules aligning with project management framework methods
- Acting as the key point of contact for liaising with key stakeholders relevant to the success of the project.
- Supporting the TMAPP clinical and administrative staff to ensure the timely preparation of case files and identification of relevant supporting medical evidence
- Overseeing escalation pathways.
- Gathering / analysing data for project monitoring and evaluation
- Participating in TMAPP governance/project meetings and provision of relevant reports.
- This role will be based from ACT Health Centre, in the ACT. It will be fixed term fulltime for 7 months with possibility of extension.
About you
Please note: You must be an Australian citizen and be able to attain and maintain a baseline security clearance from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) who are the central vetting agency for Defence
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Current, unconditional registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, supported by at least five years of post-graduate clinical experience, including recent practice within the last four years.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing small multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality health services.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic priorities into effective operational outcomes that meet defined performance goals.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide clear, evidence-based reporting.
- Sound understanding of clinical governance principles with demonstrated capability in embedding robust governance frameworks into daily practice.
- Comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed care and its practical application within healthcare service delivery settings.
