About the opportunity:
Bupa’s contract with ADF Health Services provides seamless end to end health support to 85,000 Australian Defence Force (“ADF”) personnel across multiple sites. This includes a multi-faceted health professional workforce and off base services enabled by Bupa.
The Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) leads and oversees the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring that the company’s operations run smoothly and efficiently in line with ADF objectives. This role reports to the Director ADF.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team in the effective delivery of the day-to-day operations of on-base services by Bupa and contracted staff, ensuring achievement of Contract targets.
- Utilise deep organisational knowledge to contribute to and deliver the ADFHSC strategy and business plan, ensuring that it is future focused.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Joint Health Command (JHC) counterparts to understand the opportunities and challenges in ADF environment.
- Drive positive relationships with partners, ensuring that contracted obligations are fulfilled and that service delivery to ADF members, including associated SLAs are achieved.
- Develop and foster a culture that inspires and empowers employees across the business and delivers results for the ADF and their members.
- Role model the development of talented leaders, facilitating a positive employee experience across the business and lifting employee engagement rates.
- Utilise data from service delivery to continually improve the customer experience and deliver efficiencies.
- Lead continual improvements to the Service Management Plan (SMP), effectively responding to identified service and improvement initiatives.
You will be / have:
- Tertiary qualification in Healthcare or Business qualification.
- Significant proven experience in the defence sector
- Significant proven experience managing large scale operating environments in a commercial clinical setting.
- Experience in delivery of public or private health services to meet agreed contractual obligations and SLAs.
- Strong and engaging leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to act in a leadership role at senior management level.
- Demonstrated commitment to, and practice of, leadership driven culture and building collaborative working environments across a national network.
- Proven ability to set and achieve clearly defined objectives and measures to drive business outcomes and meet service level agreements.
