Melbourne, Australia

Posted 05/12/2025 Job Number 57070 Work type Permanent - Full Time Posting End Date 26/12/2025

The Opportunity:

Bupa is a leading health insurance provider in Australia. Our customers include over 4.7 million Australian residents as well as international visitors who come to Australia as a tourist, to work or study.

Reporting to the Growth Acquisition Principal, you will drive customer acquisition across all channels. You will act as a force multiplier across the funnel from lead generation, conversion through to customer onboarding to enable our channels and portfolios to deliver on their growth goals. You’ll work closely with channel leads (digital, partnerships, outbound, GTM, retail, aggregators etc.) to identify opportunities, remove blockers, and drive initiatives that boost performance and reduce friction for new customers.

You will partner and support with the Growth Acquisition Principal to identify and deliver opportunities that deliver on our market share ambitions through acquisition growth. This includes both (1) identifying and defining what initiatives and levers we focus on and deliver to drive market share growth, and (2) delivering initiatives and levers in partnership with stakeholders across business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Here's what you can look forward to in this role:

  • Proactively identify initiatives and levers we focus on and deliver to drive market share growth.
  • Support in developing quarterly plans that ensure delivery of our customer strategy and meeting operating targets, in a coordinated and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, product, and channel teams to improve lead quality and conversion rates.
  • Proactively bring insights and ideas to senior leadership, pushing for the changes that matter most.
  • Develop actionable insights by conducting data driven analysis (both qualitative and quantitively) to support decision making across the business
  • Lead a combination of short-term tactical initiatives (ie cross-sell, up-sell activity) and longer term strategic opportunities (ie leads optimisation)
  • Deliver each initiative and lever in partnership with stakeholders across business through to realising the impact identified in initial proposal / business case.
  • Quickly ramp up across different parts of business to enable delivery (e.g., campaign development, A/B testing in digital, performance marketing metrics, product dynamics).

What You’ll Bring

To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (business / economics / finance or equivalent) with outstanding academic record
  • Prior experience in a management consulting or internal strategy role, or a combination of both desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of channel levers and experience leading growth initiatives
  • Comfortable working across functions — influencing without direct authority
  • Strong analytical skills, but equally strong at execution and follow-through
  • Strong written and presentation skills and the ability to convey complex data science concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively influence a diverse range of stakeholders including senior leaders, technical and functional specialists, operational and line managers
  • Experience in successfully partnering across functions in the development and implementation of strategies to deliver commercial outcomes within complex, matrix organisations

For this reason, in April 2020 our Health Insurance team invested over $50M and created the hardship team to support our customers when they most needed it.

Ban the asterisk

Our customers have told us that our products can be confusing and complex when we add an asterisk (*) with fine print in our policies. To respond to our customers’ needs, in 2020 the Product Deisgn Squad was created to make our products simpler, more relecant and personalised. Here’s how putting our customers at the heart of everything helped the team ban the *.
